We want every Patron of Vadama Samskritam to feel that their contribution is genuinely helping bring more Sanskrit content into the world. If the app isn't for you, here is how we handle refunds.
1. 7-day no-questions-asked window
You can request a full refund of any Patron contribution within 7 calendar days of the date of payment, for any reason. Email us at refunds@smartgenedux.com from the same email address you used to contribute, with your Razorpay payment ID (it begins with pay_). We will process the refund within 5 business days back to the original payment method.
2. After the 7-day window
Once the 7-day window passes, Patron contributions are generally non-refundable — your contribution has already gone toward recording new Sanskrit content. However, we will still consider refund requests in good faith if any of the following apply:
- The platform has been unavailable for more than 72 cumulative hours during your Patron access window because of a fault on our side.
- You were charged twice for the same contribution (we'll refund the duplicate immediately).
- A serious technical issue has prevented you from accessing Patron content for a sustained period.
3. How to request a refund
- Email refunds@smartgenedux.com from your Patron email.
- Include your Razorpay payment ID (
pay_…) — find it in the receipt email Razorpay sent right after payment. - Tell us briefly why a refund is needed. No essays required.
We aim to reply within 2 working days and to issue approved refunds within 5 working days. Razorpay typically credits the refund to your card or UPI account within a further 3-7 days.
4. Effect of a refund on access
When a refund is issued, Patron access is removed from the next time the app revalidates your entitlement. Any system-bundled free content remains available to you indefinitely.
5. Chargebacks
If you initiate a card chargeback before contacting us, we will cooperate with the bank but typically lose the ability to issue the refund directly — so please write to us first. We are reachable and friendly.
