Sanskrit Pronunciation Practice — train your ear, then your mouth

Every Sanskrit consonant has a fixed place and manner of articulation. Get the place right and the meaning lands; get it wrong and a different word may form. Compare कालः (time) with खालः — the gust of breath after the consonant changes the word.

You don’t need to memorise the chart on day one. You need to hear correct Sanskrit being spoken slowly and repeat it aloud, daily, for ten minutes. The mechanics settle in your mouth before they settle in your notebook.
